General Physio Golden Grove

The physiotherapists at Village Physio Golden Grove are qualified pain and movement experts. They determine exactly why you’re in pain, provide treatment to relieve your pain quickly and effectively, and get you back doing the things you enjoy pain free.

Physiotherapists can assist with many injuries and conditions, including running and sports injuries, mobility restriction, and post-surgery rehab. And they can choose from a wide range of treatment options to give you the best possible outcome.

Many physiotherapists, including ours, perform ‘hands-on’ treatment. This means we use techniques such as:

  • joint mobilisation and manipulation
  • massage
  • trigger point therapy
  • myofascial release.

Hands-on treatment restores pain-free movement in your joints, muscles and soft tissue. It can also be very effective for neck, back and other problems.

In your initial session, we will review your medical history and assess your current condition. Once we understand all the factors contributing to your problem, we will develop a treatment plan to relieve you of pain and get you moving comfortably again.

Move Better

Pain and stiffness reduce your ability to move well. Our highly trained physios will have you moving better in no time.

Feel Better

Our high quality physiotherapy treatments will reduce the pain of your injury, so you will feel better sooner.

Live and Play Better

Our physio and massage team will help you overcome your pain, so you can enjoy your life and play better.

Massage

We use massage either as part of a broader physiotherapy treatment or as a standalone treatment. It can be very effective for sports and running injuries and conditions, as it can treat movement range issues, tissue and muscle damage, and even poor posture. Sports massage can help athletes stay in peak condition and recover quickly from injury.

There are different types of massage, depending on your needs. A relaxation massage refreshes and calms the mind and body, and a deep tissue massage treats the whole body. Remedial massage focuses on a specific part of the body that is injured or needs rehabilitation.

All our massage sessions are performed by a qualified therapist who will assess your needs and recommend the best massage treatment for you.

Our massage sessions fees are:

  • $55 – 30 minutes
  • $70 – 45 minutes
  • $85 – 60 minutes.

Concession rates apply if applicable.

If you have a health fund, check whether your ‘Extras’ covers remedial massage. If so, we can process the payment immediately through our HICAPS electronic payment system and you only need to pay the gap.

Acupuncture/Dry Needling

Most practitioners perform acupuncture/dry needling at our physio Golden Grove clinic. You can ask about this when you book.

Many of our clients ask about the difference between the two. Simply, acupuncture refers to the traditional Chinese art of placing needles on the body to restore the flow of qi (chi). Acupuncture is ideal for managing chronic pain.

Most physiotherapists use dry needling to treat specific injuries or problem areas. They insert very fine needles into soft tissue and muscle knots (trigger points). The needles cause the muscle and tissue to react and then relax, which reduces tension, pain and stiffness.

Your physio will usually use acupuncture as part of a broader physiotherapy treatment plan.

Small Group Exercise Classes

We offer several small group exercise classes that are ideal for people who need to:

  • overcome injury
  • realign imbalances in the body
  • strengthen their core
  • improve muscle balance, flexibility and coordination.

Our popular physio exercise classes consist of low-impact floor exercises (including some Pilates-based ones) that utilise your body weight and/or small apparatus for resistance. These mat classes are tailored to your individual needs.

We also offer gym and hydro (pool) classes that you can take either individually or together, depending on your need and preference.

We keep all our classes small, so our therapist can give every participant the necessary time and attention. Book in to try one of our classes today!
